West Campus Apartment Review: The Standard at Austin (Updated for 2024)

Searching for housing is not always an easy process. As a UT student myself, I know that looking for student housing near the University of Texas at Austin, especially in West Campus, can feel overwhelming.

Location 

About a six-minute walk from the UT Austin campus, The Standard at Austin is located on the corner of West 23rd and Pearl Street.

Located in central West Campus, The Standard is just steps away from student favorites such as Cain & Abel’s and Pluckers Wing Bar. It is located near various Greek sorority and fraternity houses and is close to other West Campus apartments including the Ruckus on Rio and Skyloft Austin.

Amenities 

The Standard opened in 2021 and offers a full suite of amenities.

The Standard’s pool deck is complete with a Jumbotron, two hot tubs, and an outdoor kitchen. They have a fitness center, a yoga room and a sauna.

On the first floor, they have an on-site management center and Luxer One package room. The Standard has a two-story clubhouse, featuring a game room and pool tables. They also offer an academic study lounge and a computer lab with iMacs and a printer.

The Standard has a controlled access fob system, plus deadbolts on all unit doors. All apartments are fully furnished with hardwood-style flooring. 

The units include internet, a 50” Smart TV in the living area, full-sized kitchens with quartz countertops and stainless-steel appliances, and a washer and dryer. Premium rooms have a spacious living area with a pool table and 32” TVs in each bedroom.

Parking

If you’re planning on bringing a car, The Standard offers resident parking in their garage at an additional monthly cost. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Standard also offers secure bike storage.

The Standard at Austin offers studio, 1×1, 2×1 double occupancy, 2×2, 4×2 double occupancy, 3×3, 4×4, 5×3, 5×4, 5×5, and 6×4 floor plan options. The 1×1, 2×2, 3×3, 4×4, 5×3, and 5×5 floor plans have balcony options at a higher rate. 

The Standard has a limited amount of SMART housing bed spaces for those who qualify, which, at the time of publication, is available for their 5×4 and 6×4 floor plans.

At the time of publication on December 2023, rates for 2024 – 2025 at The Standard range from the $900s to over $2,300 per person, per month, depending on unit type. All rates are subject to change. You can find current availability and pricing on The Standard’s floor plans page.
