Here’s what you need to know about the tournament and Austin’s role in it:
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is the biggest in history with 48 teams, 104 matches, and 39 days of soccer across the United States, Mexico, and Canada from June 11 through July 19. The full match schedule is available on FIFA’s website.
Austin isn’t a host city, but it’s perfectly positioned as a base camp for the tournament. Dallas is hosting nine group stage matches at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, and Houston is hosting seven matches at NRG Stadium. Both venues are under 3.5 hours from Austin. Plenty of fans will be using Austin as their home base between matches.

Austin FC has officially announced that beginning June 13, the Club will transform this iconic East Austin venue into a free, 37-day soccer hub showing every single FIFA World Cup 2026 match through the Final on July 19. That’s 100 matches, every day. Inn Cahoots will have daily programming, live viewings, food and beverage offerings, and the full backing of Austin FC and FOX 7 Austin, the city’s official FIFA World Cup broadcaster.

Tips for Watching the World Cup in Austin
Plan around the time zones. With matches played across the US, Mexico, and Canada, kickoff times vary. Some group stage games start as early as 9AM CT. Check bar opening times on the list and plan accordingly.
The USMNT matches are must-attend events. The US plays group stage matches on June 12, 19, and 25. Arrive early, especially for the June 12 opener.
